Chef Luke Dale-Roberts
Dale Roberts settled in South Africa in 2006 after working in Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Korea and Switzerland. These remote countries taught him all he knows about culinary art. So much so that chef Luke Dale-Roberts was voted Chef of the Year 2011 in the Eat Out Restaurant! Since then, he has opened a number of renowned coffee shops such as The Test Kitchen.
Chef Reuben Riffel
Reuben Riffel is an exceptionally talented individual from the South African culinary group. Reuben came into contact with fine dining by testing the food his mom brought home from the different gourmet restaurants she worked in. His first culinary break came at Monneaux Restaurant in Franschhoek, where he took the position as a kitchen hand. From there he worked his way up as one of the top celebrity chefs in South Africa and has already palmed in a few amazing awards!
Chef Michelle Theron
Michelle has been the Chef de Cuisine at Pierneef à La Motte Restaurant since 1 May 2014. Since Michelle opened her restaurant in 2010 she indulges her clientele with authentic Cape Winelands cooking. Michelle’s enthusiasm for culinary art began as a young girl while cooking with her mother. Her interest was filled by culinary writing and her adoration for chefs such as Dominique Crenn.
Chef Jackie Cameron
Jackie Cameron fuses a feeling of personality into her cooking. Jackie makes sure that every dish she presents carries with is something true to South Africa. Her gifted hands and simple, yet elegant dishes had gotten her a number of awards over the years. Her cooking is enjoyed in a number of restaurants across SA.
Chef Adriaan Maree
Adriaan Maree made his first mark in culinary art when working at Rust en Vrede and Michelin Star Hibiscus Restaurant in London. With his career path set, he became the new Head Chef at Roots. His mission is to present dishes that are light, yet will leave you wanting more. According to Adriaan, the best way of making a winning dish is to take a few ingredients and enhance its flavour to the max.
Chef Veronica Canha-Hibbert
Veronica started her cooking venture in 1999 at The Mount Nelson. Once qualified, she worked in different Five Star establishments in England. In 2008, she came back to Cape Town and began working as an Executive Chef at the Ellerman House. Veronica believes that in order to make the perfect dish, you need to build flavour with character and always watch your own behaviour while at work.
